I seem to have figured out den Schaltplan, gentlemen. Fasteno seato beltos (bet you didn't know I speak Spanish :o) and let's go.

Pretty hard to do, eh? :o)
It _may_ be necessary to pull all lines up with [4.7K - 47K] resistors, on both ends. To do this, connect one of their terminals to pin 5 (+5V), and the other to the line.
Bear in mind that the shorter the cable is, the smaller the necessity of pull-ups. Probably a 3-feet, er, 91.5cm cable won't need them at all. YMMV.
